Black and White Baby Mobile

In response to research relating to newborn babies’ ability to see contrasts, Australian artist Tina Matthews has designed a black and white mobile. This mobile will catch a baby’s eye from 2-3 weeks of age. The product is endorsed by childcare experts who note that a coloured item will not catch a baby’s attention as completely as a black and white one.

This is a great and simple Australian-made educational toy for a baby. It is also made from recycled cardboard - which is in turn fully recyclable – and printed with vegetable inks. The perfect eco-educational gift!

Over 20,000 of these mobiles have been sold since they were first produced in the 1980s. While being designed, they were tested on the designer's own babies (who are now in their 20s) as well as at Robin Barker's baby health clinic.

Age: newborn

Package size: 22.5 x 22.5 x 0.5 cm
